During course of studies
Students already enrolled in the course of studies of other French art schools and wishing to sign up for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year must have validated their current year by obtaining all their credits or their national diploma in plastic arts.
As for students coming from a foreign art school, or from the national education or from another training institution, the requirements for accepting the registration dossier to be submitted to the equivalency.
Jury are the following:
- to justify at least two complete years of plastic art studies, either in a foreign school or in a school accredited pursuant to section L.361 – 2 of the education code, or in a private school of higher education.
- to justify at least two years of plastic arts or applied arts studies validated by a school of higher education coming under the ministry in charge of national education or of higher education and research.
- to justify at least two years of studies in a curriculum not directly related to plastic arts or applied arts but including sufficient artistic or cultural training (art history, theatre, entertainments, cinema, and architecture). Students must produce an information folder related to the studies they attended and the marks they obtained in art subjects.
For admission in the 1st cycle, the tests consists of the presentation of a personal artwork portfolio and an interview before the equivalency jury of the school made up of 3 residential teachers and the director or her/his representative.
Admission in 2nd cycle is submitted to the recommendation of the admission jury. This jury is made up of 3 residential teachers designated by the director, one of them having a PhD. The admission in semester 9 is submitted to the decision of the equivalency jury.
Non French speakers must fully master the French language and produce a test of knowledge in French (TCF) issued by an institution empowered by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. The level of French required is level B2.
